Our story began in 1996 with our founder, Mrs. Ray Sharon Taylor, a native of Guyana, devoted mother of four, and beloved philanthropist in the Canarsie neighborhood. During a challenging period in Brooklyn’s history, when quality childcare services were limited and often overlooked, Mrs. Taylor recognized a critical need within her community. As a visionary and compassionate leader, she understood that hardworking families needed more than childcare — they needed a safe, loving, and dependable place where their children could learn, grow, and feel at home while parents worked to build brighter futures for their families.
With faith, determination, and a passion for serving others, Mrs. Taylor created the SMS7 Learning Center safe space for children and families throughout the community.
Her commitment to nurturing young minds and supporting parents became the foundation of a legacy that continues today.
SMS7 CHILDCARE LLC proudly carries on that mission in honor of her grandchildren - Summer, Melo, Sirius, and Seven - whose names inspired the company’s identity. Today, we remain dedicated to providing a warm, welcoming, and enriching environment where every child is treated with love, care, and respect.
